Franklin Mountains
aerial reel.

A cinematic 4K drone piece built to showcase El Paso's Franklin range from sunrise to blue hour — shot across two mornings, cut to a 45-second hero reel plus five derivatives for social.

The brief

A local tourism partner wanted a cinematic reel that captured the scale and texture of the Franklin Mountains — something they could cut up for Instagram, Facebook, and their landing page without looking like stock.

How we shot it

Two sunrise windows over four days with a DJI Mavic 3 Cine rig, shooting in D-Log at 4K60. We scouted the ridgelines the afternoon before each session, logged flight paths, and ran every shot twice — once wide, once tight — so the edit had room to breathe.

Gear: Mavic 3 Cine · ND filters 8/16/32 · ground marker kit for hero framing.

The edit

Graded in DaVinci Resolve to a warm-terrain palette that held up across Instagram's compression. Delivered one 45-second hero cut, three 15-second vertical reels, and a loopable 6-second intro tile for their site.

What they said

"It's the first thing visitors see on our homepage now. We've already had three partner requests asking who shot it."
